On September 26-27, the "2024 WXERA Wanxiang Era Second Long Term Energy Storage Summit for Liquid Flow Batteries" jointly hosted by Wanxiang Era WXERA and the Energy Storage Industry Research Institute was held in Suzhou. Industry colleagues, representatives of leading enterprises in the upstream, midstream, and downstream of the industry chain, and senior experts from all over the country gathered together to discuss and gather wisdom around the theme of "reducing costs and increasing intelligence for attacking safety first".

With its profound accumulation and innovative achievements in the field of energy storage technology, it won the "Golden Elephant Award" series of WXERA Wanxiang Era New Quality Productivity - "Excellent Enterprise Award for Flow Batteries" and "Excellent Person Award for Flow Batteries". The successive honors not only affirm the leading advantages of ZH Energy Storage in technological innovation and product research and development in the industry market, but also witness the efforts to promote the healthy development of the energy storage industry and drive energy transformation.

At the summit, Vice General Manager Yuan Hao delivered a keynote speech titled "Commercialization Progress of Sulfur Iron Flow Batteries", sharing insights on market demand forecasting, commercialization progress of sulfur iron batteries, and cost reduction research on key materials for flow batteries. He pointed out that ZH Energy Storage Company has successfully developed a new type of sulfur iron electrolyte to address the high initial installation cost of the mainstream technology in the current flow battery market - all vanadium flow batteries. It uses a pure liquid system to avoid metal dendrite damage or capacity reduction during the charging and discharging process. It is the lowest electrolyte raw material cost among all flow technologies, with a 90% reduction compared to all vanadium, significantly reducing the initial installation cost of flow batteries, making it comparable to the cost level of lithium batteries. Sulfur iron batteries represent a new development direction in the field of flow battery technology, and ZH Energy Storage is the world's first company to commercialize sulfur iron battery technology.


At present, we are working together with Central South University and State Grid to jointly establish a megawatt hour scale demonstration project for sulfur iron batteries. This will be the first project of this scale in China, and it is expected to complete the construction of the demonstration project in 2024 and launch commercial engineering products in 2025. We aim to achieve a revenue of billions of yuan by 2030, promote the widespread application of sulfur iron flow battery technology, and bring new changes to the energy storage market.
