On May 29-31, the 9th Tsinghua Alumni Innovation Competition Youth City Promotion Competition (Energy Technology) was successfully held in Youth City. This competition focuses on the field of energy technology, showcasing innovative projects and research achievements in the field. Xu Jingkun, Chairman of Jiangxi Association for Science and Technology, Liu Yangqing, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended and delivered speeches. Zhu Liang, Deputy Secretary General of Tsinghua Alumni Association and Deputy Director of Alumni Office, delivered speeches via video. After project roadshows, discussions, expert evaluations, and other stages of screening, the "High Performance Low Cost Liquid Flow Battery Long Term Energy Storage System" project, which aims to neutralize energy storage, stood out for its innovation and project potential, and successfully advanced to the global finals.


Dr. Xie Wei, co-founder and chief scientist of ZH Energy Storage, represented the company in the competition. Dr. Xie said, "With the continuous increase in the installed capacity and electricity proportion of new energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics, the demand for reliable power support in the power system has also increased, and the importance of long-term energy storage technology has become increasingly prominent. Since its establishment, ZH Energy Storage has been committed to the research and development, manufacturing, and application of long-term energy storage technology for liquid flow batteries. The company effectively solves the current market pain points and resource problems by improving the power density of the stack, developing high-performance and low-cost PBI ion exchange membranes, and developing resource rich and low-cost sulfur iron electrolytes, in order to reduce the installation cost and lifetime electricity cost of liquid flow batteries, so as to effectively solve the current market pain points and resource problems." This competition has attracted enterprises and projects from all over the country in the field of energy technology to participate, showcasing innovative projects and research results.
