On March 1st, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Xinhua Hydroelectric Power Co., Ltd. issued a bidding announcement for the centralized procurement of all vanadium flow electrochemical energy storage systems for 2024, estimating the purchase of 1.2GWh of all vanadium flow battery energy storage systems.
The bidding for the all vanadium liquid flow electrochemical energy storage system is planned to be divided into one package, which includes two specifications of batteries. The specific procurement model specifications and estimated procurement capacity are shown in the table below:
Qualification requirements for bidders:
The bidder or the manufacturer represented by the agent should have professional production capacity for all vanadium liquid flow fuel cells, and the production capacity should not be less than 100MW/year;
The bidder should have performance in integrating all vanadium flow electrochemical energy storage systems with a single project capacity of 10MWh or more in the past three years (January 2021 present).
The bidding scope is as follows:
Procurement of all vanadium liquid flow electrochemical energy storage system for the new energy generation project invested and constructed by Xinhua Power Generation in 2024. The supply of the complete set of equipment required for the energy storage system (energy storage batteries using all vanadium flow batteries), including but not limited to the supply of the complete set of equipment required for the energy storage system, including all vanadium flow batteries, energy storage bidirectional converters (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), convergence equipment, transformers, container bodies, supporting facilities inside the container (including environmental monitoring, distribution, fire protection, security, lighting, video monitoring, etc.), and related power cables and communication cables.
The grid connected voltage level of the energy storage system for this centralized procurement is 35kV (adjustable according to specific projects), and the DC is designed to be 0V~1500V. The energy storage system, in conjunction with photovoltaic or wind power, achieves the integration of light/wind storage, energy transfer, primary frequency regulation capability, and automatic generation (AGC) function, secondary frequency regulation, reactive power support, short-circuit capacity, black start, virtual inertia, damping, and other applications. At the same time, the independent/shared energy storage system can accept grid dispatching, participate in grid peak shaving and frequency regulation auxiliary services, and meet local grid and fire acceptance requirements.
