In order to promote the healthy and orderly development of new energy storage technologies and industries, and to do a good job in energy storage research, in accordance with the relevant regulations of the National Energy Administration, the research project undertaking units will be publicly solicited starting from today. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

1、 Topic content

The focus of the 2022 energy storage research project is on development strategy, technological innovation, safety, standards, application scenarios, market mechanisms, and other aspects, with a total of 15 topics. Please refer to Annex 1 for specific content.

2、 Declaration requirements

(1) The applying unit must possess the necessary talent and material conditions to complete the project. In principle, it should be an independent legal entity and social organization within the territory of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan). Declaration in personal name is not accepted. The project leader should have high academic achievements and research experience related to the project in the relevant research field, and hold a vice senior or higher professional title. Multiple units can jointly apply.

(2) Please carefully fill out the project application form (see Attachment 2) and stamp it with the official seal of the applying unit (with independent legal personality). Three copies (with an electronic version attached) should be sent via China Post EMS to the Science and Technology Department of the National Energy Administration (No. 46 Sanlihe Road, Xicheng District, Beijing, postal code 100045). Please prominently indicate "Special Project Application" in the envelope. Meanwhile, please send the electronic version of the application materials to the contact person's email address.

(3) The deadline for declaration is July 18, 2022 (due to the impact of the epidemic, the delivery time may be extended. To avoid affecting subsequent work, please arrange the delivery time and contact our bureau in advance for confirmation). The list of selected units for the project will be announced on the website of the National Energy Administration.

(4) The project execution time is from the date of signing the contract to the end of October 2022, unless otherwise agreed. The research results of the project should have reference and guidance value for the innovation of new energy storage technologies, industrial development, and policy formulation. The research results must be original, not infringe on any third-party intellectual property and other rights, and comply with relevant national confidentiality regulations and industry policies. The research report should reach the level of public publication or publication.

(5) The intellectual property rights of the research results of the project belong to the National Energy Administration. The project undertaking unit and participants must obtain the consent of the National Energy Administration in advance if they publicly publish their research results. The project undertaking unit and participants have the right of authorship for the project.

(6) The funding will be disbursed in two installments. The first installment will be after the agreement (contract) is signed, with a maximum disbursement amount of 60% of the total funding. The second installment will be disbursed after the project results are accepted.

Research the requirements for new energy storage technologies with different energy storage durations, combine the characteristics and economy of various energy storage technologies, and propose energy storage technology routes that match different application scenarios. Research and summarize the innovative frontier of new energy storage technologies, analyze the development trends of technologies, and propose key directions for the development of new energy storage.

Comparative study of fire cases in electrochemical energy storage systems at home and abroad, proposing fault diagnosis and evaluation schemes, safety protection measures, relevant technical and management mechanism design suggestions for electrochemical energy storage systems.

A New Energy Storage Standard System and Application Guidelines Based on Application Scenarios
